Style and Content:

Our radio station will be a magazine talkshow and will include the headings below to fit the purpose of a radio script:

Presenters:

Our potential presenters will be ourselves so Shauna, Hannah and Evie but we also want to include a male voice so we will be using Joey as a presenter to show the purpose of having gender equality. The presenters will be using peer to peer mode of address and speaking in Yorkshire dialect to relate the station to Sheffield using elaborate coding which the audience will understand but people out of South Yorkshire may not.

Potential Names:

  • SHF
  • One20 FM
  • Forge FM
  • Kelham FM

Our chosen name is One20 FM,  this is relevant to the brief for a local radio station of Sheffield as  is it on of the main bus routes through Sheffield, and could also relate to the frequency at which the radio station is played at.

Song choices:
  • Akon- dont matter
  • Destinys child- Say my name
  • Sean Kingston- Beautiful girls
  • Britney Spears- Toxic
  • Outkast- Ms Jackson
  • Coolio- Gangstas paradise
  • NeYo- Miss Independant
  • Drake- Gods plan
  • Bruno Mars- Finesse

  • Bruno Mars- Finesse
  • Portugal the man- Feel it still
We have chosen these songs to be played in our radio production as they are all well known with 2 throwback songs and 3 trending songs, these would be typically be played on Hallam FM which we have got influence from, as having young 16-24 listeners from a C2DE classification which are similar to Hallam FMs demographics.

Assests:

The assests I will be needed for recording my radio show are equipment for example:
To produce a radio show we need a range of equipment for example:

Having these list of assets is important to be able to create a radio show as it shows that we have links of what they use in the professional industry.
  • A mixing desk- This is used for sound effects and adjusting sound levels during the show

  • Pop filter- A pop filter is used for a noise protection filter for microphones, this is so the audio isn't wispy and makes it clearer to hear.

  • Microphone stands- Microphone stands are used to hold the microphone in, this is easier when recording radio stations compared to having to hold the microphone as it could get shaky and the audio will sound different compared to how close you are to the microphone.

Features:

The main features of our radio station will include local competitions for the audience to enter for example having prizes like winning gig tickets which will be available for all the audience to win, however we will also have competitions to win nights out which will be accessible for the over 18 listeners to have a chance to win. Having a variety of competition prizes will attract our range of target audience from 16-24. Other features of our radio station will include a confessional ring in where the audience ring in with their problems, this is also a feature of Hallam FM and other radio stations which proves to be popular with their audience. Song requests will also be a main feature as this attracts a wider audience who want to listen to a certain song when getting ready so having call ins will be popular with our audience range who all have access to smartphones and tech.

Advertisements:

Our advertisements played throughout our radio station will be relatable to our young target audience for example car insurance which will educate the audience on best car insurance companies for their age group who will most likely have driving lessons and start passing their tests at the audience age range of 16-24. Another advertisement which will be sponsored are open university dates to attract the audience and inform them of when local open days will best suit them. A sponsorship which will be featured are clothes websites such as pretttylittlething as our target audience are 75% female this will attract them to listen as it could be showing deals or codes to buy new clothes online, also as there clothes are mostly going out items it will attract that audience who are getting ready for a night out while listening to the radio station. The adverts and sponsorships will be wrote by Shauna

Genre:

We will be making a magazine radio talkshow scheduled at 7pm-10pm, features which will fit the time of when our radio station Is aired are our narrative throughout the show as the presenters will bring up points to relate that it is night time for example hoping that everyone has a good night out or the overnight weather which might interest the audiences who are on nights out to keep wrapped up. Anther feature which will connote the it is a night time talkshow are the confessionals which may be to rude to be played in a breakfast show for example, the language could be too explicit for any other time of the day.
